In November 2009, Kenneth Zeff was appointed chief operating officer for Green Dot Public Schools. He previously served as chief operating officer for ICEF Public Schools. Before that Zeff served as a senior consultant for Policy Development in the Office of the Secretary at the U.S. Department of Education where he worked primarily on the blueprint for No Child Left Behind reauthorization. He also worked in the White House Office of Management and Budget after being awarded a White House Fellowship. During his Residency, Zeff worked in the Office of the Superintendent for San Diego City Schools. Prior to joining the Residency, Zeff was a manager at Deloitte Consulting, where he led process redesign, strategic planning, and financial management projects for Fortune 500 companies. In 1996, he took a leave of absence from Deloitte to create computer learning centers in the inner city of Seattle as a member of AmeriCorps*VISTA. Zeff holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of Michigan and a master’s of business administration from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Zeff participated in The Broad Residency in Urban Education Cohort 2003, serving his two-year Residency in San Diego City Schools.
